Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artist Intense lipstick

I’ve recently made several trips to Sephora, and unfortunately anytime I step foot in that store, I can’t come out without a purchase. Do I need that lipstick in hot pink AND red? Yes, actually. Well…no, but you know how it goes. That is why I am a makeup fanatic.
My latest trips to Sephora resulted in several purchases. I was recently inspired to rock both a red lip and a hot pink lip after seeing it on a couple others. BUT (and this is a big but), I’ve got olive skin and for us olive-skinned ladies out there, not every red looks that great…and unfortunately, the same goes for hot pink. If we don’t choose the right shades we can look downright ghastly, no matter how much confidence we’ve got!
And so, my trip to Sephora was “justified” by a couple of reviews I had read here of Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artist Intense line.
That link will show you the range of colors Sephora carries, and if you click on the main Make Up Forever page, there’s a quick survey you can take to determine your best shades based on your skin tone, eye and other colors. I wrote these down and drove to Sephora and tried on a couple of colors.
My first trip resulted in my purchase of #45, described as a satin raspberry red.
Now, I’m no pro when it comes to makeup…but I am INCREDIBLY picky about what I wear, and I absolutely LOVE this lipstick and this shade! The lipstick glides on true to color and I think it suits my skin great. The lipstick has a creamy but matte finish and looks great with a gloss on top or by itself.
I was so in love with the lipstick that I decided to make another trip to Sephora, made possible by a recent cash gift from a relative (thank goodness for those), and tried on some other shades. #9, described as a pearly fuchsia, looks absoutely GORGEOUS in the tube.
There are hints of glitter or goldish flecks in it but it’s a bit of a disappointment on the lip and doesn’t look as strong or beautiful on the lip. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a beautiful color, because it DEFINITELY is and I ended up purchasing it AND *gasp* it ended up suiting my skin tone! Yay!
I’d definitely recommend Make Up For Ever’s rogue artist intense lipstick. It’s beautiful and glides on easily and stays on without drying out the lips…but don’t take my word for it, the link I posted also has tons of reviews so check that and the shade survey out before purchasing! :)
