My apologies for going M.I.A.!! I moved, I have been stressed-the-hell-out (poor skin) and have just been busy searching for jobs and haven’t had time to write this post, which I have been wanting to do for quite some time!

Bare Minerals Foundation and Concealer

Last summer when my hormonal breakouts began, I thought it might have been the makeup I was using, so I decided to ask around and see what makeup others recommended. I began with my friend Jill.

My friend Jill is incredibly clever and hilarious. I don’t think I’ve ever had a conversation with her where I didn’t literally LOL. She has this way of persuading you…it’s more than just friendly advice, almost on the level of a mother’s wisdom, injected with grace and humor. I don’t know what it is, but it’s effective. It should be patented.

One thing she was effective in getting me to do is investing in Bare Minerals…and one look at her skin and you can understand why.

Victoria’s Secret Tinted Moisturizer, $14

Victoria’s Secret makes makeup? That’s something I didn’t know until I started working there last summer.

Victoria’s Secret makeup has won numerous awards? That’s definitely something I didn’t know until, to my embarrassment, a customer told me when I was helping them pick out makeup.

And I wouldn’t doubt it, if this tinted moisturizer is anything to judge by.

Beauty Idol: Julia Restoin-Roitfeld

As part of this blog I’m going to do a series of women I see as idols in the beauty world: women who have a trademark look, who are movers and shakers in the beauty world, or who I think are just plain gorgeous.

I am going to start of with perhaps my favorite beauty idol, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld.

 

DDF 5% Glycolic Exfoliating Facewash

DDF is a brand that I was turned on to not because someone told me about it, but because I saw it in someone’s medicine cabinet…and that certain someone has impeccable skin that I ADMIRE and so I thought to myself, “this may be her secret!”

Well, despite our founding fathers saying that “all men are created equal” I must disagree: not all men are created equal, and thus not all skin is equal. That is why, to my great dismay (and that of my pocket), this product did not work for me.
